Hampshire End Season on a High with Victory Over Oxfordshire
Hampshire rounded off their 2025/26 Inter-County Championship campaign in style this past weekend, securing a hard-fought 19-17 victory over Oxfordshire in an entertaining and closely contested fixture.
The Women’s A team got Hampshire off to a strong start, recording a 4-2 victory against their Oxfordshire counterparts. There were excellent wins for Pennie Lewis, Tara Power-Gillet, Jane Monaghan and Dawn Simmonds, with Jane producing a particularly impressive 3-0 victory.
The Men’s A side faced a strong Oxfordshire team and, despite some excellent individual performances, went down 9-3. Chas Barstow was in outstanding form, recording a superb 4-0 victory with a 29.47 average, while Aaron Turner also impressed with a commanding 4-0 win. Dave Bonnett added Hampshire’s third victory in the session with a solid 4-2 success.
Despite the Men’s A result, Hampshire’s strength across the remaining sections proved decisive. Strong performances from the Men’s B and Women’s A teams ensured Hampshire maintained their advantage and ultimately secured the overall victory.
The final score of 19-17 reflected the competitive nature of the weekend, with both counties producing high-quality darts throughout.
